The hobby farm you keep dreaming about is closer than it looks.
We're Brittany and Ryan. We started with bare land and no idea. Seven years later we run a working ranch and stable, and we spend our days helping neighbours start theirs.

We were you, seven years ago.
Seven years ago we bought a patch of land and a lot of optimism. Today it's a working ranch and stable. We help you skip the expensive mistakes and get to the good part faster.
Read the whole storyThings people ask us at the gate
How much land do I actually need?+
Chickens are happy in a backyard. Two goats want a quarter acre or so. A miniature horse wants half an acre; a horse wants one to two acres each, plus hay through the winter. The Farm Dreamer does this math for you.
Do you sell animals?+
No, and we think that's a good thing. We help you figure out what you want, find reputable sources, and set everything up before the animals arrive.
Can you just do the whole thing?+
Yes. Consultation, fencing, shelters, water, landscaping, then animal setup. Or pick the pieces you want and do the rest yourself; we'll show you how.
What does a consultation cost?+
Talk to us. The first conversation is free, and an onsite walk-through is priced by distance. We'll tell you up front.
What area do you cover?+
Southern Manitoba, roughly two hours from the ranch. Further for bigger projects; ask.
Is a hobby farm expensive?+
It can be. It doesn't have to be. The expensive part is doing things twice. Our whole job is making sure you do them once. We work out real numbers with you on your land, not from a web page.
I haven't bought land yet. Can you help?+
Please ask us before you buy. Slope, water, wind, soil and access make or break a farm, and we can read them in an afternoon.

This isn't a sales call. It's a conversation about your land, your animals and your first season. Bring your questions; we'll bring seven years of mistakes you don't have to make.
